1. Cleanse your lips

Before you go to bed, make sure that you cleanse your lips with a cotton ball dipped in makeup remover or just plain water. There should not be any marks of lip stains or lipsticks on your lips before sleeping.

2. Massage your lips

Take your favourite oil like almond oil, coconut oil, olive oil, etc, and massage your lips everyday for at least 5 to 10 minutes. This will improve blood circulation and make your lips healthy. For better results you can massage before going to bed to get softer lips in the morning.

3. Keep your body hydrated

Make sure that you have a proper intake of fluids everyday to keep your skin and body well hydrated and nourished. This is the basic key to healthy skin.

4. Avoid smoking

Prevent smoking as smoking will eventually lead to darker lips and will also make them dry. To lighten your lips and make them look pink if they have been stained from smoking, take a small amount of curd with saffron and massage on your lips daily for 5 minutes.

5. Always apply a lip balm with sunscreen

Do not forget to apply a lip balm that has sunscreen before you apply your lipstick. This will keep your lips moisturized as well as ensure that your lipstick stays on your lips for a longer time.

6. Maintain a healthy diet

Apart from keeping your body hydrated, you also need to make sure that that your body gets enough nutrition to maintain the health. Consume foods that are loaded with vitamins A, B and C and eat green vegetables and fruits daily to get healthy body and skin.

7. Never peel off the skin

Never make the mistake of peeling off your skin from lips no matter how dry or chapped your lips become. This will lead to bleeding of your lips as the skin of your lips is too delicate. Apply a lip cream or petroleum jelly on your lips to make them soft and then gently remove the dead skin cells with a damp cotton ball.

8. Exfoliate

Apart from cleansing and moisturizing your lips, you also need to exfoliate regularly using a natural scrub to get rid of all the dead skin cells. Take brown sugar and honey and make a paste. Massage on your lips gently for 5 minutes to exfoliate them and make them soft. Wipe with a damp cotton ball and apply a lip balm.

Include these little things in your daily lip care routine and you will notice a bigger change in the way your lips look and feel.
